Krillion is a free browser word game. There are no accounts, no ads, no analytics trackers and no tracking cookies. This page explains the small amount of data the game does handle, why, and what you can do about it.
What we collect
| Data | Why | Where it lives |
|---|---|---|
| The answers you type | To grade them and to work out how common each answer is. Answers are counted per prompt, without any link to you. | Our database, stored anonymously |
| Diver name you choose (multiplayer, 1 vs 1, leaderboards) | So other players in a room can see who said what, and to show the daily leaderboard. Use a nickname, not your real name. | Held in memory while a room runs; leaderboard entries kept up to 30 days |
| Your depth score at the end of a dive | Daily leaderboard | Our database, alongside the diver name |
| IP address | Briefly held in memory to rate-limit abuse; never written to our database. Our host may keep standard server logs. | Server memory (minutes); hosting logs |
| Game progress: tokens, shop items, best depths, recently seen prompts, chosen name | So your progress survives a refresh | Only in your own browser (localStorage). We never receive it. |
We do not collect email addresses, phone numbers, location, contacts, or any account information, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.
Cookies
The site sets no cookies. It uses your browser's localStorage only to remember your own progress, which you can clear at any time from your browser settings.
Services that help run the game
- Answer grading. When you type an answer that is not already on a prompt's list, the prompt and the answer text (nothing else) are sent to an AI grading service (xAI, or Anthropic if configured) to decide whether it is correct and how rare it is. If no AI service is available, the answer text is looked up on Wikipedia instead.
- Hosting. The game runs on Railway, which processes network requests to deliver the site.
- Fonts. Typefaces load from Google Fonts, which receives a standard web request from your browser.
We do not sell or share data for advertising, and none of these services receive anything that identifies you beyond the normal technical details of a web request.
Children
The game is suitable for all ages and is designed not to need personal information. Players under 13 should use a nickname and should not type personal details into answers or names. If you believe a child has entered personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
How long we keep things
- Anonymous answer counts and grading results: kept to improve rarity scores.
- Leaderboard entries: deleted after 30 days.
- Multiplayer rooms: nothing is kept after a room empties.
Your choices
- Clear your browser's site data to erase all local progress.
- Ask us to remove a leaderboard name by contacting us with the name and approximate date.
- Don't type anything personal into answers or names. Everything the game needs is a word or two.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top will change with it.
